Why I built TrarrenShot
I have worked in software development for a long time. Besides development tools, screenshots are one of the tools I use most every day.
I use them to explain bugs, share design feedback, document problems, and make screen-based discussions easier during remote work. There are already many good screenshot apps, but I kept running into small interruptions: choosing a capture mode before I could start, taking a capture again because the framing was wrong, or struggling to point out something clearly during a meeting or presentation.
Remote work also made me want a way to draw directly on the screen. Most screenshot apps have capable annotation tools, but usually only after a capture. During screen sharing or a demo, I wanted to mark up the live desktop, then keep interacting with the app underneath.
So I started building TrarrenShot.
I do not want to make another app that only takes screenshots. I want to make a Mac screenshot and visual communication tool that fits the workflow: capture quickly, explain clearly, take the next step, and keep working.
People work differently, so TrarrenShot is designed to adapt. You can reorder the toolbar, hide tools you do not need, and use shortcuts for common actions such as cancel, copy, and save instead of keeping every control on screen.
TrarrenShot is independently developed by me. The Changelog records released updates, while the Roadmap shares directions I am planning. The Roadmap is a plan, not a promise that a feature is already available.
